The Tale of Mr. Jeremy Fisher

Mr. Jeremy Fisher, a cheerful frog who lives beside a pond, sets out in the rain hoping to catch minnows for dinner with his friends. In his little green boat, he waits patiently, eats lunch, and tries again after a few interruptions. But the pond has bigger plans: first comes a spiny stickleback, then a trout with a taste for frogs and goloshes. Mr. Jeremy is swallowed, spat out, and sent home in tatters, but safe at last. His friends gather for dinner, and the day ends with a cozy, reassuring finish.
