Aesop

The Fox and the Grapes

In this classic fable, a fox sees a tempting cluster of grapes hanging just out of reach. He jumps, stretches, and tries again and again, but the vine stays too high. At last, he walks away pretending he never wanted them in the first place. A short, memorable story about wanting what we can’t have—and learning not to dismiss it just because it’s out of reach.
